Introduce your child to the wonderful world of beekeeping with this My First Pollinator House DIY Kit. This pollinator house kit is welcoming to orchard, mason, and horn-faced bees, all of which are excellent pollinators and do not sting, making this kit the perfect opportunity for children ages 3 and up to learn about some of nature's hardest workers. These types of bees will often lay eggs in wooden holes in existing structures, so this unassembled unit can be a boon for both your child and these amazing insects. Five precut wooden panels join together with the included hardware, and the open center holds the included bamboo tubes. These tubes naturally encourage solitary bees to lay their eggs in them, ensuring that these peaceful patrons will be present in your yard year after year. The flat base of the house can be placed on a level surface, or holes can be drilled through its top lip for a different arrangement, making it enticing for the bees and interesting for your child. A small, downwardly sloping roof helps the bees and their eggs stay dry and happy in inclement weather. The house can be painted with the 6 included, differently colored acrylic paints and 2 paintbrushes, providing exciting tools and a canvas for your budding artist. A sheet of stickers featuring various bugs is also included, as well as a fun coloring sheet on the front of the instructions. Spend some quality time with your child and broaden her or his view of nature and construction with this My First Pollinator House DIY Kit. Assembly required.
